A thautomaton is anything that relies on enchantment to provide it with the ability to move around autonomously. Golems and some highly-modified streetskimmers or cloudcars are legitimate thautomatons. One of the most interesting and grandiose thautomata is the city wall of Alankha, constructed entirely of golems that act as a machine greater and more capable than its individual parts.
